Registrations and participations opened simultaneously

If you manage registrations to your races in Sportmaniacs, you know that for a convenient or a classic race you can not have registration open once the event has started, logically. But this is not the case of a virtual race, in which participants have several days to complete a distance, and you can keep your registration open until the event is finished.

In this article you will learn how to maintain your registration open, meanwhile racers are participating in a race, both at the same time.

The first thing to understand is what logics Sportmaniacs applies when it changes the “Register” button to any other state.

The button shows “REGISTER” while the registration is till open, so that the date and the hour of the event start do not get to modify the button.

If the period of registration is over, and the time and the hour of the event start are over, the button will change to “WAITING RESULTS”.

Once the results are published, independently of the previous state of the button, it will now show “RESULTS”.

For example, for an event which starts 06/02/2021 at 10:00, and for which we want to maintain registration till 07/02/2021 by 22:00. You will then have to set your event at Sportmaniacs the following way:

    1. The fields “Date and hour” of “Edit event” have to correspond to the start of your event. This information will appear in the confirmation email and also in the registration confirmation email, thus you should set a date and an hour in which your athletes can start their participation. In our example this is 06/02/2021 at 10:00.
    2. The field “Date” and “Hour of the section setup of registrations should contain date and hour of registration closing, in our case: 07/02/2021 at 22:00.
    3. Finally, you should set up the date of the start of participation in your virtual event the way, that it is the same as the date of the event start and the date for registration closing. In this article you will learn how to do it.
